Weekend Hashtag Project: #WHPsuperstition

Weekend Hashtag Project is a series featuring designated themes and hashtags chosen by Instagram’s Community Team. For a chance to be featured on the Instagram blog, follow @instagram and look for a post announcing the weekend’s project every Friday.

In honor of Friday the 13th, the goal this weekend is to capture creative photos and videos that showcase your superstitions. Some tips to get you started:

• From black cats to broken mirrors, four-leaf clovers and more, superstitions often have to do with good and bad luck. Consider the things you think of as lucky or unlucky as you begin to brainstorm.


• Sometimes the smallest superstitions are the most interesting. Think about quirky regional beliefs or your own personal rituals for unexpected inspiration.


• Every superstition starts with a story. Don’t forget to explain the superstition you’re sharing in your caption to help bring that story to life.

PROJECT RULES: Please add the #WHPsuperstition hashtag only to photos and videos taken over this weekend and only submit your own photographs and videos to the project. Any tagged image or video taken over the weekend is eligible to be featured Monday morning.
