Making Toronto Cityscapes Come to Life with @minivango

“#hellomynameis Vincent Yung (@minivango). I am 20 years old and grew up in Vancouver, Canada. Currently, I’m an architecture student at the University of Toronto. I don’t usually post a lot of personal photos. It’s more what I’ve seen — cool places I’ve been. A lot of times you just decide, ‘Oh, I’m going to take a picture of this because it looks cool,’ but in architecture, you learn to take these moments and try to find a purpose for them in order to create something meaningful. You need to have a methodology behind all the designs you draw. Nothing is out of place.
I really like reflections of natural lighting. When natural light plays with different textures, I think that showcases the photo differently. I also definitely try to take into account the lines that are in my photos. They are a very critical part of my composition. A lot of times I try to create a dialogue between all the components that make up one single picture. Visually, architecture can be simple. And because it’s so simple, it can be breathtaking.”
