Support refugees around the world with our latest Xperia Theme

Everyone is no-doubt well aware of the humanitarian crisis affecting more than 400,000 refugees fleeing war-torn conflict zones to Europe.

In collaboration with UNHCR, we’re launching a new Xperia theme that uses graphics and visualisations to highlight the importance of individual acts of kindness and generosity to those in need, at the same time offering a simple way of donating and supporting the refugees in Europe and around the world, via an accompanying app.

UNHCR is the agency appointed by the UN to lead and co-ordinate international action to protect refugees and resolve refugee problems worldwide. They’re on the ground, helping those who are caught up in this crisis. Humanitarian issues as complex as the refugee crisis require considered and competent responses; UNHCR are the only organisation protecting refugees and providing lifesaving assistance at every point of the journey to Europe. But, with so many in need, it’s crucial that people continue to support UNHCR as every donation helps them save lives and protect families who have been forced to flee their homes.

The XPERIA™ Support Refugees Theme is available to download from the Google Play Store – simply open the “Support Refugees” app within the theme and hit “Support” to donate. You can also find out more about UNHCR’s work with refugees on its website.
