When Carolyn Borlenghi (@carolyn_mara) was having a bad day, she did what came most natural to her — placed her tripod by the pool, set the timer on her camera and jumped in. “Creative expression is really healing,” says Carolyn. As an art educator and self-described “creative spirit guide” in Miami, Carolyn’s determined to bring out the artist in others. “When somebody says, ‘I’m not an artistic person,’ I take that as a challenge,” she says. “Just like you exercise your body to get stronger, you have to exercise your creativity.” Besides being a regular contributor to @instagram’s Weekend Hashtag Project series (she’s even created her own hashtag, #ohjustcreatingforWHP), Carolyn constantly experiments with her photography, often with her two sons by her side. “It’s about going out and trying things without being afraid — even if you think you’re going to fail,” says Carolyn. “I just go with it.”
