Second Time Around at the BRIT Awards with James Bay

It was a surprisingly normal day for James Bay (@jamesbaymusic) when he learned about his four BRIT Award (@brits) nominations. “In a rare moment, I was actually at home,” the 25-year-old singer-songwriter says. “I was probably lifting a suitcase up my stairs to do something very rock ‘n’ roll, like wash a load of clothes before I got back on an airplane.” He’s been flying a lot lately. Since taking home the Critics’ Choice trophy at the 2015 #BRITs, James released a No. 1 record and embarked on a world tour. For this year’s BRITs, he’s looking forward to performing and enjoying all the goodies he has in his dressing room: a table tennis setup, Pac-Man and — the one nonnegotiable — his “touring family.” According to James, having them around makes the experience “easier to enjoy, which is the most important thing.”
