Audi. Porsche. BMW. VW. Bentley. We’re rolling into the 86th International Geneva Motor Show with some of the top names in the automotive business. They’re highlighting new models and concepts with super-slick digital cockpits and a new generation of driver assistance and autonomous driving capabilities.
More than 700,000 visitors are expected to take over this beautiful Swiss city to see the latest auto models, features and technology. With our technology on the road today in almost 10 million vehicles and tens of millions more projected over the next five years, there’ll be plenty for them to see here.
A few highlights:
Audi Brings Q2 to Digital Natives
Audi’s new Q2 is an SUV aimed at a new generation of digital natives. Options include the all-digital Audi virtual cockpit and a head-up display. Infotainment options include a stunning NVIDIA-powered navigation system with online Audi Connect. The Audi Q2 also redefines the class benchmark for driver assistance systems. Audi’s Pre Sense Front can avoid collisions with pedestrians or vehicles, and its adaptive cruise control with stop and go functionality and traffic jam assist make your daily commute all but effortless.
Bentley’s Stately Mulsanne Goes State-of-the-Art
Bentley has just given its imperious Mulsanne a hefty revamp, with updated styling and new tech. One of the more prominent updates: a new touchscreen infotainment system. It features an 8-inch touchscreen display and a 60GB solid-state hard drive. Buyers can also specify a new “Bentley Entertainment Tablet.” It’s a 10.2in Android-based tablet, which mounts to the backs of the front seats and offers access to a host of apps – including Spotify and Skype.
BMW Brings the Performance
BMW’s latest offering includes plenty of power to go with its advanced NVIDIA-powered cockpit. BMW’s new M760Li will sporting the automaker’s first M-Performance-branded 12-cylinder engine. This 600-horsepower sedan will hustle to 60 mph in 3.9 seconds.
Porsche’s Turbocharged Technology
Porsche premiered its all-new 718 Boxster, and it’s packed with power, and technology. Its 300 horsepower, 2.0 liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine can go 100 kilometers on just 6.9 liters of fuel. And it features an all new touch screen infotainment and navigation system powered by NVIDIA.
VW Shows Off New Compact SUV Concept
The main highlight of Volkswagen’s spread will be a new compact SUV, the T-Cros concept. Volkswagen has bet on our processors for its digital cockpits, and now it’s betting an affordable SUV will be a trendy alternative to traditional compact cars.
The Geneva Motor Show is now open to the public today and runs through March 13.
