Weekend Hashtag Project is a series featuring designated themes and hashtags chosen by Instagram’s Community Team. For a chance to be featured on the Instagram blog, follow @instagram and look for a post every week announcing the latest project.

Weekend Hashtag Project: #WHPpostcard The goal this weekend is to make photos and videos that capture a sense of place. Here’s how to get started:

• Photograph iconic landmarks (like the Louvre in Paris) in surprising ways by shooting from unexpected angles and layering other elements into your frame to show more of the surrounding scene.
• Take time to absorb your surroundings and make an image that captures what is most unique about being there in person whether that means pulling back to show the scale of a shopping district or getting up close with a native plant.
• Go beyond the limits of a traditional postcard: Create a video with ambient sound that transports the viewer — like the rushing of a waterfall or the sounds of traffic moving through a vibrant urban scene.

PROJECT RULES: Please add the #WHPpostcard hashtag only to photos and videos taken over this weekend and only submit your own visuals to the project. If you include music in your video submissions, please only use music to which you own the rights. Any tagged photo or video taken over the weekend is eligible to be featured next week.
