“#MyStory is about variety. I could never settle in one place or be one thing.” —Imogen Lehtonen (@imogenocide), Los Angeles-based jewelry designer and silversmith at her family’s business, The Great Frog (@thegreatfrogla).
“Riding motorcycles is a huge passion of mine — it encapsulates the word ‘freedom.’ It’s definitely my father’s influence. Growing up, I was given rides to school on the back of my dad’s bike and I knew one day I would get my own. Five years ago, it really was a male-dominated industry and the females were the partners of the guys who ride. I’ve watched it morph and change, and met so many women who it’s really changed their lives. Being able to jump on this thing is huge for my confidence.
It’s never been something that scares me — it’s therapy. I don’t listen to music when I ride, so it’s just me in my head. I figure so much out about myself and what I want to do and where I want to go. My dad passed away just over two years ago, so it makes me feel close to him. It’s my every day tribute to him.”
