Celebrating Flavor, Family and Nature with @sweetandhome

For Marta Estévez Ansede (@sweetandhome), no baked treat is complete without a touch of home. The mother of two hails from Galicia, in the verdant Northwest of Spain, and her visual creations celebrate the harmony that she finds in the kitchen. “It is the fusion between nature, between what surrounds me, and what I want to present, which is the dessert. It’s like dressing it a little with nature,” she says. Marta photographs most dishes with the natural light from her porch, adding seasonal and personal accents like bundled cinnamon sticks, worn pages from her grandfather’s magazines — and, on occasion, hand modeling by her two boys. Around the holidays, baking comes with even more benefits: “I do love having my people (family and friends) around my table — and the smell and warmth from my oven while it’s cold outside.”
