Weekend Hashtag Project: #WHPboomerangoftheyear

Weekend Hashtag Project is a series featuring designated themes and hashtags chosen by Instagram’s Community Team. For a chance to be featured on the Instagram blog, follow @instagram and look for a post every week announcing the latest project.

The goal this weekend is to share a favorite Boomerang from 2016 — whether that means scrolling back through your camera roll or feed to resurface an old favorite or making something new. Let’s close out the year with a boom! Here’s how to get started:

• If you’re revisiting an existing Boomerang, make sure it was taken this past year. Consider outtakes you loved but haven’t shared anywhere yet!
• Inspiration for a new (or even your first!) Boomerang can come from just about anywhere. Experiment with fun dance moves, silly props or a group of friends until you’ve captured a dynamic action in loop.
• Be sure to share why the Boomerang you posted is your favorite of 2016 in your caption. (And let us know if it’s your first!)

PROJECT RULES: Please add the #WHPboomerangoftheyear hashtag only to Boomerangs taken in 2016 and only submit your own to the project. Any tagged Boomerang posted over the weekend is eligible to be featured next week.
