Caroline Nguyen’s Connection to Her Community

Caroline Nguyen (@tit3.viet) is proof you don’t need a ton of space to be creative — she makes the majority of her self-portraits from her bedroom, drawing inspiration from her everyday life and a passion for Japanese manga culture. “I really like this style,” says 23-year-old Caroline, who lives in France. In many of her posts, she shares supportive words, inviting people to overcome their struggles and hang-ups. “Very often, I base my work on my own experience. I also sometimes write fictional stories about subjects that are more or less taboo that might affect my readers: young parents, lust, racism, anorexia, bulimia and much more,” says Caroline, who has built an active community on her profile. “It’s satisfying to like what you do, but it’s even more satisfying when it’s appreciated by others. I love this interaction and the fact that you can feel close in spite of differences in age, origins, cultures and the distance separating us.”
