Illustrator Ana Santos Paints Fantastical Female Faces

With the help of a brush and some watercolors, Ana Santos (@anasantos_illustration) combines the female form with fantasy. “I love fusing faces with nature,” the illustrator, who also teaches art, says of her work. Based in the northwestern city of Salamanca, Spain, Ana is inspired by photography and loves experimenting with her art, creating something you wouldn’t see in everyday life. “I like to take a face and try lots of different things with it,” she says. “Sometimes, I take a drawing from a year ago or longer and update it.”
