The Razer phone will launch on November 1. Are we talking about a new Motorola? Nope, that's Razr, without the "e". Razer, in case you're not familiar, is a company which produces high-end gaming PCs and accessories (including things like mice, keyboards, and headsets), but is apparently determined to muscle in on the smartphone space with its first ever handset.
According to the rumour mill, the handset will be keeping with the rest of the brand by being aimed at "hardcore gamers", although at present it's not exactly clear what that will mean in terms of features other than one very high-end spec line-up.
A listing of the phone on the GFXBench database showed it will have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor with 8GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage. A product listing from 3G.co.uk also now reiterates the above spec, although it has since been taken down, a thread on Reddit recorded the posting. On top of the previously mentioned spec, the listing added a 4,000mAh battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 4+.
Other known specs include a 5.72in IGZO touch display with a wide colour gamut (WGC) and 120Hz refresh rate. There's a dual-sensor 13MP and 12MP camera on the back, dual-front-facing THX speakers with THX amplifiers and Dolby ATMOS audio enhancement.
The price remains elusive, but it's expected this handset will fetch quite a lofty tag, typical £500+ or even £600+ flagship prices are probably a safe bet for this much cutting-edge tech.
