The BlackBerry KEYone has proven a popular handset with reviewers, but BlackBerry clearly has a lot of work to do to regain its public profile. The BlackBerry KEYone Black Edition - the black coloured model with additional onboard storage (64GB) - has been available in the UK for a while now, but it was a limited distribution to BlackBerry's own web-based store, Selfridges, Unlocked Mobiles, Currys PC World, and via some networks and providers such as EE and Carphone Warehouse.
Now though, that is being expanded to include other major outlets, including Amazon, Argos, and John Lewis.
Amazon currently has it listed at a reduced price of £496, down £53 from the RRP of £549; which is what it'll cost you at John Lewis, while Argos has, for some reason, added 95 pence to that RRP. If we were you we'd stick to Amazon UK for now!
In case you missed it, the BlackBerry KEYone is the firm's current flagship handset running near stock Android Nougat with a 4.5in touch display and a fixed physical QWERTY keyboard in the old-school style. It also has a 3,505mAh battery, a Qualcomm octa-core processor and an excellent set of camera hardware. For more details check out our full review here.
If that's a little expensive for your tastes, or you're not a keyboard fan, BlackBerry has just launched the BlackBerry Motion too, which is cheaper at £399 and has a full-size touch display as well as a 4,000mAh battery, although it only has 32GB of onboard storage and the camera's not quite as good. We've been hands-on with the BlackBerry Motion, so you can check out our early assessment here, but we'll be delivering a full review in the coming weeks.
Here at KYM we've been really impressed with BlackBerry's Android offerings to date; the combination of slick BlackBerry hardware with a near-stock Android experience is great, plus BlackBerry's software additions are actually really beneficial and complement Android very well without cluttering it up.
