How Much Does The Xbox One X Cost?

Microsoft’s Xbox One X is HERE and you’re probably wondering how much this 4K console costs?

Microsoft’s Xbox has been through a fair few changes in the past few years. There was, of course, the Xbox One, then the Xbox One S, and now… the Xbox One X, which is A LOT of iterations when you consider the way the console market has traditionally worked for the past decade.

The Xbox One X was always the end game for Microsoft; 4K gaming was always the target, it just took awhile to get there, for things to catch up – 4K TV adoption being one of these things.

A lot of people now rock 4K TVs which is why you’re seeing more and more 4K content from the likes of Netflix, Amazon, Sky, and Apple with its iTunes library. But for gamers, the holy grail has always been console-based 4K gaming.

And the Xbox One X is here to do just that – bring true, 4K gaming to the masses in 2017/18.

So how much does the Xbox One X cost? Not as much as you’d expect, though it is the most expensive Xbox ever created with prices starting at £449.99 for the console.

You are getting A LOT of power for that money though; the Xbox One X essentially delivers PC-grade gaming power inside an alarmingly small package. The result is truly astounding 4K gaming experiences as well as plenty of media options.

The takeaway point here is fairly simple: the Xbox One X is around 40% more powerful than any other console on market right now – and, yes, that includes Sony’s PS4 Pro.

All of this power is made possible via Microsoft’s Scorpio engine which features the following: Octa-Core 2.3GHz; Custom x86 Core architecture GPU: 40 Customized Compute Units @1172MHz - Six Teraflop Performance RAM: 12GB GDDR5 RAM Memory Bandwidth: 326GB/s bandwidth Storage: 1TB hard drive Optical: 4K Blu-Ray Drive.

Here’s what Microsoft had to say about native 4K gaming on the Xbox One X at launch:

“On Project Scorpio, a half-resolution effect rendered at 1080p and bilaterally up-sampled to 4K could look as good or better than the same effect rendered at full resolution on Xbox One,” according to the leaked PDF.

“For example, on Xbox One, the effect is produced at full resolution, say 900p, but on Project Scorpio, the effect is produced at 1080p, which is half resolution.”
Basically, if you’re after the best possible console gaming experience around, you need the Xbox One X in your life.
