It's happening! It's HAPPENING!
The Samsung Galaxy X, the much-rumoured folding and flexible OLED handset, has previously recieved Bluetooth SIG certification, which is always a good indicator that a phone is almost ready to land, but now we've got another major appearance which is strongly indicative that things are going to get official.
Earlier this month the Samsung Galaxy A5 2018 and Galaxy A7 2018 have both independently appeared via their model numbers listed on Samsung's official support pages - one in Russia, and the other in South Korea. These pages are place holders for when the phones are released and where consumers will find a load of technical information about the devices.
And now this has happened for the Samsung Galaxy X also; it's appeared on the South Korea official support page listed as a previously leaked model number - the SM-G888N0.
This likely means it will arrive in South Korea first. According to earlier rumours, Samsung is taking an approach similar to what it did with the Galaxy Note EDGE (which launched alongside the Galaxy Note 4); a limited run of perhaps as little as 100,000 units to test the market.
There's been a ton of leaks and rumours leading up to this point, and speculation about the specific design is pretty rife, although a broad consensus seems to be a handset that will fold down the middle, a bit like an old-school clamshell phone but one where the screen is continuous across the hinge as it can fold without deforming thanks to flexible OLED.
With the phone apparently being prepped already, it would indicate a launch early in 2018, possibly at CES 2018 at the beginning of the year. Although Samsung's typical style these days is to host its own dedicated event. Some time around MWC 2018 a few months later is also a possibility.
