Apple's iMac Pro Release Date Happening Before Xmas

Yep – word on the street suggests Apple is keen on getting its new iMac Pro out before Christmas

Apple’s been working on a new iMac Pro for quite some time now and reports suggest the ultra-powerful desktop computer could well get a release date before Christmas.

Apple’s enterprise staff are now actively taking customization orders, according to Apple Insider, which indicates the new iMac Pro is about to get officially released. The report believes that the iMac Pro will get a release next week – so, right before the Xmas break.

The reason for this? Simple: Apple’s clients will want to spec out their iMac Pros and secure financing or funds to acquire the machines. By having a dialogue with Apple’s sales staff, regarding specs and options, the buyers are able to get a better idea about pricing.

The base model will retail for $4999, as confirmed by Apple during the iMac Pro’s announcement at WWDC 2017, though there will be higher-tier models and room for plenty more cost with higher-end specs and peripherals.

The iMac Pro will feature a 5K display, Vega 56 or 64 Graphics, up to 18-core Xeon processors, up to 4TB of SSD storage – basically, it’s going to be a MONSTER. This is why it costs the best part of $5K.

Apple apparently wants to ship initial orders before the Xmas break. It has been working with clients for the past month in order to achieve this goal, according to the report’s source.

Not that many will be lucky enough to get a $5K computer for Xmas. But if you’re in the market for a computer with a serious amount of power under the hood, you might want to check out the following video which details the iMac Pro in FULL in just under six minutes.
