The Samsung Galaxy S9 (and Galaxy S9 Plus) launch is just around the corner. Next to Apple’s iPhone releases, Samsung’s Galaxy S9 is basically one of the biggest announcements of the year. So what can we expect?
Well, the latest leak for the handsets shows the key differences between the Samsung Galaxy S9 and the Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus – and it’s just not about size. First and foremost, there will be a clear differentiation in the handsets’ camera capabilities.
As you can see, the Galaxy S9 Plus will feature a dual-lens camera, whereas the Galaxy S9 will not. This might seem like an odd move, but given the way Apple does things it’s not all that surprising; Samsung needs to attract users towards the more expensive model.
And having a better camera on it is one, clear way of doing this.
In addition to this, you can see that the fingerprint sensor has been moved as well. On the Galaxy S8 it was placed in an awkward position, whereas here it is sat neatly in then middle of the handset in a more natural position.
The Galaxy S9 Plus will also be bigger than the standard model. It will also have a larger battery, though both handsets will feature the same display tech, CPU, and amount of RAM.
As for pricing? That’ll become clear later this month when the handsets get official at MWC 2018 on February 25.
