Like many of 2018's flagship devices, it has a gorgeous glass back which sadly doesn't play nice with solid floors, so some kind of case is a must. Official Huawei P20 Pro Smart View Flip Case
This official offering from Huawei is a lot like the Smart View cases that are so popular on Samsung's Galaxy S lines of devices. The screen has a transparent section which shows certain pieces of data – such as the time, weather, unread notifications, that kind of thing. A combination of plastic and faux-leather, it doesn't add much bulk to your phone but we're not sure it will provide complete protection in the event of a massive drop. Still, for around £20 it's a bit of a bargain.
Olixar ExoShield Tough Snap-on Huawei P20 Pro Case
Olixar's fame comes from its ability to offer robust cases at bargain basement prices, and the ExoShield Tough for the P20 Pro is no exception. While it does bulk out the phone a little, the use of clear materials makes this less noticeable, and the extra level of protection could prove very handy if you're the clumsy sort. Special care has been taken to ensure that there's ample protection on the corners, which are most likely to hit the ground first in the event of an accidental drop. Not bad for a case that costs less than a tenner.
Official Huawei P20 Pro Silicone Case
Another official option is this silicone effort, which offers a soft-touch design that is more grippy and hard-wearing that other TPU cases on the market. It's perhaps a little too grippy in fact, as we often find that these cases are difficult to extract from your pocket if you're wearing tight jeans or trousers. Like the Smart View case, this is surprisingly good value for money, especially when you consider how much companies like Apple and Samsung charge for their own-brand cases.
Love Mei Powerful Huawei P20 Pro Protective Case
If you value protection over looks then this is the case for you. Beauty may be in the eye of the beholder but we can imagine few will see this case as attractive, but then that's not really the point; it boasts a shockproof design with "high-impact ballistic bezels" that should ensure it survives anything you can possibly throw at it. There are even covers for all of the phone's ports to prevent dust and water from getting in. At £30 it's not cheap, but can you put a price on keeping your beloved phone safe and sound?
Krusell Sunne Huawei P20 Pro Leather Case
At the more premium end of the scale is this rather fetching leather case from Krusell. It's made from genuine leather and has a soft interior to keep your phone in pristine condition. At £30 it's not cheap, and leather cases, while boasting gorgeous looks, aren't the best when it comes to actually providing anything above scratch-and-bump protection, but we can't imagine either of those things will put you off if you're looking for the most appealing case for your phone.
Piel Frama iMagnum Genuine Leather Huawei P20 Pro Flip Case
Oh boy, now we're onto the good stuff. This premium case – fashioned from top-of-the-line Spanish cow skin leather – offers all-round protection thanks to its robust design and screen cover, the latter of which is held in place by a special magnetic enclosure. It's a real beauty of a case but that comes at a cost – the RRP is £80, but Mobile Fun has it on offer for £50. Even at that discounted rate, it's a pricey investment, but one you might not mind making if you want the best case possible.
Krusell Nora Huawei P20 Pro Shell Case
Another offering from Krusell, this time featuring a plastic shell coated in a special material that aids grip. We're not looking at supreme protection here, but the case is so thin it barely registers and the grippy texture means that the P20 Pro is unlikely to fly out of your hand at any given moment. At just under £20 it's not cheap for what it is, but Krusell's case is a step above most of the other snap-on cases you see these days.
