LG often announces diverse product ranges at major shows so we're expecting plenty of new devices at MWC 2013
LG has confirmed it’ll be bringing a new flagship to MWC with the Optimus G Pro, which is expected to carry Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 600 quad-core chip clocked at 1.7GHz with 2GB of RAM.
It’s said to have a 5.5-inch display with a Full HD 1920x1080 pixel resolution at 400 pixels-per-inch (ppi), a 13-megapixel camera, 3,140mAh battery pack and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.
Supposedly it’ll be available with 32GB of internal storage and microSD capability for cards up to 32GB.
There will likely be a lot of interest surrounding LG’s new flagship following on from the popularity of the excellent Nexus 4 which it produced on Google’s behalf.
However, part of that phone’s appeal was in its low price point for high-end hardware and the Optimus G Pro’s asking price will be a big factor in determining its success.
The other potential stumbling block is LG’s tendency to layer heavy UIs on top of Android, where the Nexus 4 had the appeal of being a stock Google experience.
The company has also revealed it’ll be introducing a new F Series range of mid-tier handsets with the Optimus F5 and Optimus F7.
The Optimus F5 will feature a 4.3-inch 312ppi IPS LCD display and a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, while the Optimus F7 has a 4.7-inch IPS touchscreen at the same pixel density, an 8-megapixel camera and a 1.5GHz dual-core chip.
Lastly, LG is rebooting its L Series with the L Series 2, including the Optimus L7 2, Optimus L5 2 and Optimus L3 2. The Optimus L7 2 has a 4.3-inch display, a 1GHz dual-core processor, 4GB of onboard storage, an 8-megapixel camera and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.
Aside from the fact the Optimus L3 2 will feature a 3.2-inch display the rest of the specs for the other L Series 2 models are unknown.
