We check out all the rumours to see what Samsung is likely to launch at Mobile World Congress
Samsung has confirmed it will launch another Galaxy Note device at Mobile World Congress, though it hasn’t specified what exactly.
The most widespread leaks and rumours point to the Galaxy Note 8.0, but other rumours have also suggested a Galaxy Note 3 smartphone and a successor model to the Galaxy Note 10.1.
Whether we’ll just see one of these or all three is anybody’s guess.
On the non-stylus side of things Samsung is also believed to be prepping new third-generation models in its Galaxy Tab range, including a Galaxy Tab 10.1 3 and a Galaxy Tab 7.0 3. It’s also been reported that there may be a higher end 10.1-inch model called the Galaxy Tab 3 Plus.
The Korean manufacturer will also apparently be bringing a handful of budget and mid-tier Galaxy Android smartphones to the show, including the Galaxy Star, Galaxy Young, Galaxy Pocket Plus, Galaxy X Cover 2 and Galaxy Frame, amongst others.
It’s quite possible we’ll see the company’s new budget REX handsets running its own Java based operating system with the familiar TouchWiz UI.
We’d say the Galaxy Note 8.0 seems like a prime candidate for MWC, being a new spin on an existing product.
For our money, the Galaxy Note 3 seems unlikely, as it’s a prominent enough successor model to warrant its own hype-fuelled launch event on Samsung’s independent schedule.
That said, if it does show up it’s probably going to generate a lot of buzz – check out our predictions for the full Galaxy Note 3 spec.
The Galaxy Note 10.1 previously launched at MWC and arguably wasn’t as successful as its smaller phone counterpart, so it could go either way.
The next flagship, the Galaxy S4, is pretty much a definite no-show as multiple rumours suggest Samsung is saving it for a dedicated event later in the year.
