Previous leaks of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 are allegedly fakes, according to an inside source.
A report from examiner.com claims that its anonymous inside source at Samsung has said photos leaked onto the web in recent weeks were faked.
‘I don’t know much about the device except to say it will have a completely different design,’ they said.
Speculation surrounding Samsung’s design language has been rife since before the Galaxy S4 launched. Many expected the Galaxy S4 to exhibit a new design direction, but when it was announced and looked similar to the Galaxy S3 the rumours switched to the Galaxy Note 3 instead. Several leaks have shown the Galaxy Note 3 in various guises, leading some to believe Samsung has created multiple decoy designs and prototypes to throw people off the scent.
While the Galaxy S4 and other recent Samsung products have met with praise there’s still a vocal section of the press and consumer base which would prefer a nicer finish to the build materials. Samsung taking a completely new design approach could signal such a move, or it could just be to do with the shape. Some leaked pictures have shown a more angular design.
Display size can be a somewhat limiting factor on design and there are rumours suggesting the Galaxy Note 3 might be 5.9-inches or 6.3-inches.
Examiner.com reports having spoken to analyst Paul Mueller, who says he doesn’t believe the 5.9-inch rumour. He thinks Samsung will pull the same trick with the Galaxy Note 3 as it did with the Galaxy S4 – that is, the same size as its predecessor but with a larger display and a narrower bezel. This being the case we could expect the Galaxy Note 3 to have a 5.5-inch form factor with a 5.7-inch display?
