Pictures have leaked online showing what are believed to be drawn diagrams of Apple’s forthcoming iPhone 5S and an ‘iPhone Light’, which sounds like the rumoured budget iPhone.

AppleInsider, which broke the news, reports that accessory manufacturers who provided the leaked images trust them enough to base case designs on them, which are already going into production.
Not that it takes much, it would seem accessory manufacturers would begin making the next iDevice case if the nearby breaking of wind even vaguely sounded like the utterance of the word ‘Apple’.
According to the report, ‘people familiar with the accessories industry’ think the design diagrams are legit and have created a 3D render showing the iPhone Light in all its glory.
The images show that the iPhone Light will be very similar in shape to the iPhone 5S (and the iPhone 5) and both new models will still feature 4-inch displays. It appears that the iPhone Light will be ever-so-slightly wider and thicker than the iPhone 5S, however.
There’s little else in the way of changes from the iPhone 5 in terms of button and port positioning. Both devices show a camera port on the back alongside a microphone. We can also deduce the iPhone 5S has a dual-LED flash from its elongated port, while the iPhone Light presumably has a single LED flash as its port is a basic circular shape.
It’s not the first time case-makers have jumped into action prematurely ahead of Apple launches. Famously several manufacturers produced iPhone 5 cases ahead of what turned out to be the iPhone 4S launch.
Many of the iPhone Light details do match up with previously rumoured features, however, naturally the outline image can’t show some suggested elements such as a plastic bodyshell and a range of bright colours. Notably, it’s the first proper name we’ve heard for the budget iPhone (other than the improbable 4.8-inch ‘iPhone Math’).
Apple is expected to make an announcement at some point in the Autumn, although some are still hedging their bets that something could emerge in the Summer. Apple’s chief executive Tim Cook stated in an earnings call earlier this year that the next set of products would emerge in ‘the fall’.
