For awhile now, we’ve known that Samsung is going to be having an event on the 20th of June which will be showcasing a few of their newly announced devices. There have also been rumours of more devices that could be announced at next week’s event; one device that has joined this rumour mill is the Galaxy Camera. This rumour originates from an interview CEO of Samsung Electronics, J.K. Shin, had with the Korea Times in which he says they will be announcing their “latest mirrorless camera that runs on Google’s Android software”.
Seems like pretty conclusive evidence. The interesting thing here is that, barring any translation mishaps, the new Galaxy Camera will in fact be mirrorless and hence have interchangable lenses. Coupled with a new sensor from Samsung, the new Galaxy Camera could be a very exciting prospect for Android and camera enthusiasts alike. Hopefully we’ll see what it’s like next week.
Would anyone consider getting the new Galaxy Camera if it was ‘mirrorless’? Or would you prefer the Galaxy S4 Zoom? Let us know what you think in the comments.
