Let’s spin that rumor mill and see where it takes us. Seems that some anonymous tipsters have pegged Key Lime Pie to come out sometime in October. If that was not enough for you, how about the fact that Key Lime Pie was designed with the intentions to run on low-end phones and not just the super phones that are out there.
Now do not take all this as fact. You know how rumors get spread in our Android community, and I almost did not even post about this rumor, but the whole low-end phone assumption had me thinking. How awesome would it be if Google made their next OS easily able for OEM’s to get them out to ALL their devices easily? It would be a dream for Android Enthusiasts, and anything to cut down that damn fragmentation is music to our Android ear drums. Odds are, it will not be the case, but we can still dream little wet Android dreams, can we not?
Android 4.3 is supposedly due out sometime this Summer, which leaves a couple months for us to get used to that version, before we see nice big leap up to 5.0. Google has not confirmed any of this, so do not get too excited quite yet. We will let you know if we hear anything else.
