BlackBerry A10 renders leak – show removable back

Renders of the BlackBerry A10 have leaked showing a removable back panel and HDMI port

Renders of the BlackBerry 10 have leaked online which allegedly originate from BlackBerry’s official help guide documentation for the device. The images show that the device has a removable back cover and a SIM slot on the side.

It would appear that a section of the back panel wraps around as a sort of lip, which covers the SIM tray positioned in the left-hand side of the device. Slightly below this, and uncovered by the back panel when it is in place, are microUSB and HDMI ports.

The power button and a 3.5mm headphone jack are located on the top edge of the handset and we can also see from the back panel that the camera port will be in the top-left of the back panel if you were looking at it head-on. It’s thought the BlackBerry A10 may have a microSD slot but we can’t see this in the renders, it could be located elsewhere on the device.

While the back panel is removable in these diagrams it does not necessarily indicate a removable battery pack. Indeed, rumours at present would strongly suggest the battery pack, said to be 2,800mAh, will not be removable. This wouldn’t be the first device with a removable cover but a fixed battery – the Sony Xperia SP springs immediately to mind.

Previous leaks have suggested a dual-core processor, probably Qualcomm, and a 1280x720 pixel resolution for the 5-inch Super AMOLED panel. The BlackBerry A10 is thought to be arriving in late Autumn, possibly October or November at the latest.
