HTC One Mini coming in Q3 say Asian parts suppliers

More rumours of an HTC One Mini Q3 launch make it look increasingly likely

More rumours are adding weight to the claim that the HTC One Mini will pack a 4.3-inch display and will arrive in Q3, reports reveal.

We’ve previously heard similar reports and several leaks have suggested the same approximate launch bracket, but this time the information comes via DigiTimes citing ‘Taiwan-based supply chain makers’.

The sources also say this will coincide with when Samsung’s already announced Galaxy S4 Mini will start hitting store shelves and networks, while another motivator for these Mini Android devices to arrive around this time is the increasing number of rumours and leaks surrounding the budget iPhone from Apple, which may be called the iPhone Light or iPhone Mini.

The HTC One Mini is rumoured to have a 720p display rather than the 1080p Full HD setup found on the flagship HTC One, but much of the rest of its exterior design will remain the same at a slightly smaller scale. That means an aluminium bodyshell, although recent leaks have shown it will have some prominent plastic trim.

It’s also thought the HTC One Mini will feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 dual-core chip clocked at 1.4GHz with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of onboard storage. It’ll still have front-facing stereo speakers but will lack the HTC One’s infrared blaster for TV control. Android will naturally be onboard but whether it is 4.2 Jelly Bean or the as-yet unreleased 4.3 build remains to be seen, but it will use HTC Sense 5 complete with HTC’s Blinkfeed homescreen. The camera is thought to be the same 4-megpixel ‘Ultrapixel’ setup as seen on the HTC One.
