A couple of new Android 4.3 features have popped up a week after launch.
The first new feature is called quick response that allows you to reject calls much more easily.
When a call comes in and you're too busy to answer, you can reject the call and send a message to the caller via third party apps. Unfortunately, none of the high-profile SMS apps support it at the moment, so it's up to the developer to add it into services such as WhatsApp.
Android Central also speculated that Google Voice may be updated to work with the service, although that's still hearsay at the moment.
The second new addition uncovered by the site is called notification listener.
Again, it's right in the code of the update and it a feature developers can add to apps currently using the accessibility service to access system notifications.
Essentially, it allows the updating of apps without accessing accessibility settings. Previously, if an app were to discover a new notification, it would have to communicate with the accessibility settings in your device before displaying the notification.
Now, apps can read notifications as they are posted by the system, saving one step of the process.
Although both these updates are aimed more at developers than end users, once they are rolled out, you should benefit pretty nicely.
Android 4.3 has started rolling out worldwide to the Google Nexus 4 and Nexus 7, although some users are reporting the update hasn't hit their devices yet.
