The LG G Pad is being checked over by the FCC, appearing in certification documents online

The rumoured LG G Pad tablet has appeared in certification documents for the US FCC, revealing a possible 4G LTE variant.

According to Phonearena the FCC documentation lists an LG-V500 as a Wi-Fi only edition of LG’s in-development tablet. It’s interesting because a Bluetooth certification appeared previously showing both the LG-V500 and an LG-V507L but there wasn’t any information to discern a difference between them. The fact that the V500 is Wi-Fi only could suggest that the ‘L’ on the end of the V507L stands for LTE.

At the moment leaked specs imply an 8.3-inch display with a 1920x1200 pixel resolution, a quad-core processor and 2GB of RAM. The device is branded under LG’s ‘G’ device class which is pegged by the company as a premium brand and the company previously said all its ‘G’ phones would be using Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chips. Nothing’s been said about tablets under the brand, but it’s a distinct possibility.

Some reports have suggested LG may be bringing the LG G Pad to IFA 2013 for a little showcase preview, the conference is kicking off on September 6 in Berlin, Germany, but there will be happenings in the days running up to the official commencement as Samsung, Sony and HTC are all understood to be launching major devices from September 4.

We’ll be in attendance at IFA 2013 and will certainly keep an eye out for the LG G Pad slate to bring you any details we can. Stay tuned.
