LG teases LG G Pad 8.3 in video ahead of possible IFA 2013 launch

LG has released a teaser video for its forthcoming LG G Pad 8.3 tablet detailing some of the questions it asked Joe Public in order to come up with the design.

Unfortunately, the video doesn’t actually show any footage of the device itself, which is a bit of a shame, but it does show that LG has gone down the route of design by committee and in this case the committee is, apparently, people on the street.

The problem there is if you listen to everyone you invariably get a device which tries to please all and ends up pleasing nobody. Contradictory demands do surface in the clip, such as people wanting a device that is ‘small’, ‘smaller’ and ‘pocket size’, but also big enough to watch full HD films on enjoyably. Quite how LG has taken pocket size and come up with an 8.3-inch tablet is anybody’s guess, perhaps it’s catering specifically to clowns?

Previously leaked specs have indicated a full HD 1920x1200 pixel resolution and a quad-core processor with 2GB of RAM. It’s thought that this may be a Snapdragon 800 considering LG’s revealed commitment to put the chip inside all its ‘G’ branded smartphones, but whether that actually extends to tablets is currently unclear.

Earlier rumours have also suggested the LG G Pad 8.3 could be unveiled at IFA 2013 in Berlin, Germany in early September, which is quite possible considering this teaser video comes only a week before the conference. LG issued a similar teaser video one week prior to announced the LG G2 smartphone a few weeks ago.
