Ever since Google released the news it was working on Android Wear, a dedicated operating system for wearable products, we’ve been excited to get our first glimpses of what is possible. LG was one of the first out of the gates to announce it’s LG G Watch and we are now getting a proper look at the device.
It’s expected to be coming out at some time during July this year but nothing is confirmed just yet. According to the video, LG is about to “define the smartwatch” which is now confirmed to be powered by Android Wear.
The video also confirms that the device will be waterproof but doesn’t share any details on what level of protection it will have. Hopefully it’ll be possible to wear it in the shower without fear of ruining your new wearable.
We also now know there will be a five-pin connector on the rear of the device to help charge it via microUSB - similar to Samsung's Gear 2 and Gear Fit. That makes it pretty certain you won’t be able to wear the device whilst it’s charging. At the end of the video it also shows us both versions of the device, one in full black or another in white with gold sections.
LG’s G Wach will come with a 1.85-inch display and 4GB of internal memory. It’s expected to cost around the £180 in the UK.
If you want to get a full on look at the new LG G Watch, watch the video below. It shows off what the watch will look like in both colour variants.
