How To Take A Screenshot On Your Samsung Galaxy S5

We teach you how to snap that moment whilst using your Samsung Galaxy S5

Samsung’s Galaxy S5 has a pretty hefty beast of a camera which is useful for grabbing a snapshot of the world around you. But what about when there’s something on the screen you really want to capture. Only a screenshot will do, but how can you do it? This guide is here to teach you exactly how to do that.

Screenshots have been built into all Android handsets since back in 2011. Each phone is different though which means there are different ways of taking screenshots on each. It’s not changed much since the Samsung Galaxy S3 though, so if you knew how to do it on there or the S4 you’ll know the same process here.

What Do You Want To Shoot?

Is there a particular app you want to show all your friends? Or is there a high score in Flappy Bird you really need to post on social media. Find exactly what you want to take the photo of and make sure it’s displayed on the phone's screen.

Screenshot It!

Now you want to shoot it. You need to hold down the power button at the top of the handset at the same time as the Home button underneath the screen. If you hold both at the same time it’ll flash and your screenshot will be saved on the phone.

Head Over To Photos

The screenshot will now appear in the Photos app. It’ll be under a file called screenshots and should be saved with the date and time you took the snap. From there you can share the file in all manner of ways or connect it up to your computer to take it off the phone.

The possibilities are endless.
