iPhone 6 displays are leaking all over the shop and each is being put through some torture to see what kind of damage it can sustain before it breaks. We’ve previously seen the sapphire display have to handle a set of keys and a knife scratching. There was no damage from that abuse and another YouTuber saw fit to try bending the display, it survived quite a while.
It seems things have stepped up a notch with this one, someone has decided to shoot an arrow at the display. This should probably be taken a little tongue in cheek, the display is just designed to survive a few drops and accidental scratches, not a sharpened stick going at 340 feet per second.
The ammo is a Full Metal Jacket carbon fiber arrow being shot by a Carbon Spyder Turbo compound bow. The results are pretty much what you’d expect and the arrow seems to come out on top. You can watch the video below to see how the display shatters much like normal glass.
We suspect not many smartphones would survive this style of execution, so not much information can be taken from it. It’s interesting to finally see the phone fail at one of these tests, plus everyone likes shooting arrows at inanimate objects.
