HTC has begun sending out invitations to an official event on November 2, which many are speculating could see the rumoured HTC U11 Plus unwrapped. The invitation, pictured below, details that the event will take place in Taipei.
We can see the invitation is branded with a "U" symbol, so it is certain that whatever is announced will be a member of the HTC U family. At present we're not aware of any other HTC U handsets in development, so that really only leaves the HTC U11 Plus, a reported upgrade of the HTC U11 which will be closer to a true flagship in terms of specs and features.
It'll allegedy pack an upgraded 5.9in display with the much-coveted and on-tren 18:9 aspect ratio in an edge-to-edge implementation, plus a QHD+ resolution at 1440x2880 pixels. The internal specs are also competetive with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 and options for 4GB or 6GB of RAM and 64GB or 128GB of storage.
On the camera side of things, rumours suggest a 12MP primary sensor with an f/1.7 aperture and UltraSpeed Autofocus; it will likely be a single sensor rather than a dual. The front-facing secondary is thought to be 8MP. Typically HTC flagships sport dual front-facing BoomSound speakers, but with the edge-to-edge display taking up most of the frontage it's not clear what will happen in this regard. Black and silver colour options are also rumoured.
