OnePlus seems determined to irritate people who've just bought its "next best thing" by introducing another "next best thing" almost immediately afterwards.
First it launched the OnePlus 5T not long after consumers had put away their wallets for the OnePlus 5 (repeating the same thing it did with the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T last year), and now it releases a new colour variant for the OnePlus 5T shortly after the pre-order period finalises and the handset goes on general sale.
Yes, if you're one of the people who hurried out and pre-ordered a black or grey OnePlus 5T or picked one up on the first day of general sales then you may be a bit peeved to hear that OnePlus has just announced the OnePlus 5T in a new colour option; Lava Red.
But before you start frothing at the mouth too much, you can take some consolation of the fact that this red colour is going to be an exclusive for the Chinese market, at least for now. This model will feature 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, and will be priced at around $559.
OnePlus hasn't revealed any plans to make this Lava Red model available outside of China, but it could happen at a later date. We've seen the firm do similar staggered rollouts in the past for things like the Soft Gold colur on the OnePlus 3.
