Lenovo is continuing to support its modular Moto-branded smartphones - the ones which work with Moto Mod accessories which clamp onto the back and add additional functionality to the device. The latest two to be announced by the firm are the Lenovo Vital and the Livermorium Slider Keyboard.
The Lenovo Vital is a health monitor designed to work with health apps and to generally give you an idea of how healthy you are. It uses an array of sophisticated sensors and can measure your heart rate, respitory rate, oxygen saturation, core body temperature, and - a world first - accurate systolic and diastolic blood pressure via a built-in finger loop.
In the past, health apps have been somewhat limited in the sense that there's only so much you can glean from a conventional fingerprint sensor - the Lenovo Vital has been designed to overcome these limitations with a much more comprehensive suite of highly accurate hardware.
It's not cheap, mind you, and will retail for an RRP of $395 when it lands in April 2018.
The Livermorium Slider Keyboard is a bit more straightforward, providing a traditional style slide-out QWERTY keyboard for your phone, similar to older BlackBerry and Nokia devices. This Moto Mod is the result of an IndieGoGo compeitition - the Transform The Smartphone Challenge - which it won, and is now being manufactured by Livermorium. It'll arrive "winter" 2018 with an RRP of $99.
